Belgrade Baroque Academy presents its 24th edition
After two acclaimed baroque opera productions, Rinaldo and Giulio Cesare, Belgrade Baroque Academy is excited to announce its 24th edition, shifting the spotlight to the orchestral masterpieces of 17th and 18th century Baroque masters – paired with dazzling gems of the vocal repertoire.

About the 24th edition:
The Academy offers a rich exploration of selected Baroque orchestral repertoire. We plan to work on music by composers such as Handel, Vivaldi, Muffat, Hellendaal, Wassenaer, and others. Performed on period instruments, this will be an intensive and immersive programme dedicated to historically informed performance.
How to apply:
We are seeking for talented instrumentalists as well as singers who are interested to take part in the concert performances.
Preparations will take place over six days in late April and early May, offering participants a unique opportunity to work with leading Baroque specialists and educators. We will also be joined by members of the award-winning period instrument ensemble New Trinity Baroque, who will share their expertise with other instrumentalists in the Baroque Orchestra of the Academy.
This intensive masterclass is intended for advanced baroque instrumentalists (pitch: A=415 Hz). For those who don't have their own baroque instruments, one can be provided through the generous support of the Makris Music Society.
The primary language during the Academy will be ENGLISH, but our mentors also speak many others.
Participation Details:
• Fee: £ 500 GBP for instrumentalists, and £ 750 GBP for the singers.
• Deadline: Until full.
• Accommodation is not included, but we can offer assistance in finding suitable options (e.g. AirBnB, hotel recommendations).
Who should apply?
We are seeking young, passionate singers and instrumentalists eager to explore the richness of Baroque musical interpretation. With the support of distinguished experts – including music director, singer, harpsichordist, and conductor Predrag Gosta; baroque violinist, strings coach, and orchestra leader Bojan Čičić (The Academy of Ancient Music, Royal College of Music in London); as well as baroque cellist and continuo expert Srdjan Stanić; traverso and recorder player Meila Tomé; harpsichordist and fortepianist Bojana Dimković, and many others – this is your chance to express yourself on stage and enhance refine your artistry.
Participants will receive expert coaching in Baroque style and ornamentation, language, stage movement, and historical vocal and instrumental technique.
Two concert performances on the last two days of the Academy will be professionally recorded on video – providing a record of your participation and artistic development, which you can use for your portfolio or future engagements. Day-to-Day Schedule
• Day 1–3: Intensive coaching & preparation, individual sessions, and full orchestra rehearsals
• Day 4–5: Final rehearsals with the orchestra and singers
• Day 6–7: two performances in Belgrade and Novi sad
